Stars occur in many forms in doublecloth and in coverlets woven very simply on twill threadings.
Portfolio: Trees
Trees in borders are often in double rows.
The doublecloth coverlets were handwoven using 16 or 20 harnesses. It took really good planning to weave trees up the sides as well as at the foot of the coverlet, in balanced and symmetrical form.
